Places for People: Urban Settlements is suitable for Year 12 Geography students, based around the focusing questions for the prescribed common topic Urban Settlements.
All of the focusing questions are applied to each of two case studies:
an urban settlement of continental importance (Singapore) an urban settlement of national importance in New Zealand (Auckland) as required by the curriculum document. These studies allow students to build on knowledge and ideas from the Monsoon Asia population section of School Certificate, and introduces them to the idea of planning, studied in Bursary Geography.
