The Science 10 Workbook follows on from the Science 9 Workbook by the same authors, providing a complete course in Level 5 Science in line with the achievement objectives for science in the new curriculum. Topics Covered Being a scientist, Basic chemistry, Acids and bases, Fuels, Human reproduction and genetics, Organ systems, Geology, Earth systems science, Force, mass and motion, Electricity Theory Exercises The 131 theory exercises have been designed to help students grasp the core content for Year 10 Science and develop the skills needed for success in Year 11. The exercises have been given A, M, and E labels and judgement statements to give students practice in NCEA style assessment. Practicals The Science 10 Workbook contains 48 practicals, suitable for all classes. Each practical is followed by a ÂThinking about it section that links the practical work with the theory being learnt. Revision Tasks and Quizzes The CD in the Science 10 Workbook contains 212 computer revision tasks to help students master the knowledge needed for Level 5 Science. The 130 classroom quizzes will provide motivation for students to do the revision tasks, and they also review the previous lessonÂs work, helping knowledge move from short-term to long-term memory.
