 DescriptionIn this book (the first in the tangata whenua series) students will explore why learning about and understanding the past is relevant to all who live in New Zealand. They will do this through: * examining the challenges the first settlers faced when they arrived in their new homeland * investigating the ways that the first settlers, and later the first European settlers, adapted to and impacted on their new environment and, over time, changed the way they interacted with the environment. Through these investigations they will discover that we can all learn important lessons from the past. |
